Meet Our Board of Directors
Erik Olson
Board President
Erik joined Sunburst Projects as a Camp Sunburst volunteer in 2005 and has served as a Camp Counselor, Assistant Camp Director and Camp Director. Erik leads our board and supervises our Executive Director to ensure that our organization maximizes community outreach, organizational capacity, and connects our daily work with the vision and mission of our agency.
Erik is a lifelong resident of Santa Rosa and has worked for the National Park Service as a Marine Engineer for nearly 35 years. Erik specializes in the restoration, preservation, and operation of historic steam engines.
Cindy Brown
Board Member
Cindy has been a Camp Sunburst volunteer for over 20 years and oversees our “Magic Maker” volunteer program. Cindy and her wife have adopted many children over the years, and have taught them the power and self-fulfillment of volunteerism. Several of her adult children have become counselors at Camp Sunburst. Cindy spends her free time enjoying her farm and volunteering for several non-profit organizations.
Brett Anderson
Board Member
Brett has a passion for fundraising for non-profit organizations including Sunburst Projects, the Sacramento LGBT Center, Loaves and Fishes, and the Mustard Seed Schools. Brett has worked in the hair styling industry for nearly 20 years, and teaches styling courses and techniques around the country. During his free time Brett and his alter-ego drag queen Betty Booger are active in performing at fundraising and philanthropic events in the community.
