Sunburst Projects is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Sacramento, California that serves individuals from the greater Sacramento region. We provide a variety of social and mental health services to individuals and families impacted by HIV/AIDS.

Our Programs

MEDICAL CASE MANAGEMENT
Case management encompasses a wide range of services that focus on empowering clients to improve their health. Our goal is to promote and support clients’ engagement in medical care, reduce barriers to care, and advocate for our clients’ needs.
MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Sunburst Projects offers traditional counseling, crisis intervention, psychotherapy, and family therapy. With more than 30 years of experience, we promote mental health services that restore clients’ level of functioning and strengthen client self-efficacy.
SOCIAL SUPPORT SERVICES
Our experienced staff assists clients in accessing public and private programs for which they are eligible. Also, our childcare services assist HIV positive families with dependent children with a multitude of programs and services.
YOUTH PROGRAMS

Sunburst’s approach relies on individual and community participation which prepares and empowers youth and teens to become effective community leaders. Youth learn that they have the potential to change negative social patterns of behavior and HIV infection.

AIDS DRUG ASSISTANT PROGRAM
Sunburst Projects is a certified ADAP (AIDS Drug Assistant Program) enrollment site. ADAP helps California residents living with HIV/AIDS who are either uninsured or under-insured get access to their medications and to a doctor who can give you medical care.
EDUCATION AND PREVENTION

Sunburst Projects is working to establish an HIV testing program within our office. This program will include peer navigators and community education and outreach. Our free “Lunch and Learns” are held periodically within the community throughout the year.

Since the early 1980’s, Sunburst Projects has been helping improve the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS. It has been an extraordinary and rewarding ride, but without the support of people like you, it would have never happened. In these times of economic uncertainty, we need your help more than ever.
