Our vulnerable clients can't buy food, keep the lights on, or pay their rent. They are coming to us in desperation. Every day we hear new stories of our clients suffering because of cuts to their income and losing their jobs due to COVID-19.
On December 12th Sunburst Projects welcomed Vicki Barbolak and her “Trailer Nasty” Comedy show at the 24th Street Theatre in Sacramento. Two local opening acts, Suzette Veneti and Melissa McGillicuddy, got the audience laughing and warmed up for Vicki’s side-splitting act! Vicki Barbolak was a Top 10 Finalist on Season 13 of America’s Got Talent. Sunburst is very grateful to Vicki Barbolak and all of our supporters who came to the show and helped us raise money so we can continue to do our important work supporting youth and families living with HIV/AIDS.
A big thank you to the Imperial Court of Sacramento (CGNIE) for their generous donation of over $1,000 to help us purchase backpacks and school supplies for our Sunburst kids. Our "Camp Out for Sunburst" event at Faces Nightclub last month was a huge success! Thank you to Terry Sidie, owner of Faces, Precious Cargo our MC, and all of the incredible drag queens who made the evening so fun! And a big thank you to all of our guests who came out to support our important work in the community. We raised over $16,000!! This will be a yearly event, so stay tuned for details on our 2020 Camp Out!
