DESCRIPTION:Empowering and strengthening the voices of women living with HIV/AIDS. \nAs women living with HIV/AIDS we all long for understanding\, compassion\, and respect. Sometimes it’s easiest to find these among others who share one’s situation or outlook. That’s where the Sunburst Project’s Women’s Group comes in. \nSunburst Project’s Women’s Group is open to HIV positive women. You are welcome to attend even if you are not a Sunburst Projects client. \nWhether were coping with a health issue or trying to change our life for the better\, there’s nothing like sharing experiences\, knowledge\, and resources with others on the same path. \nGroup Topics Include: \n• Learning to live with HIV/AIDS\n• Coping with Stigma/Discrimination\n• HIV/AIDS Prevention and Education\n• Medication Adherence and updates\n• Advocating for your health needs\n• Addressing issues of disclosure\n• Safer sex education\n• Effects of drugs\, alcohol and smoking\n• Psychological and emotional challenges\n• Managing stress\, anger\, and depression\n• Maintaining relationships\n• Peer support and solidarity\n• Parenting skills\n• Community Resources\n• Nutrition \n​ \nActivities Include \n✓ Peer Education and Advocacy\n✓ Community Education and Outreach\n✓ HIV Educational Luncheons\n✓ Personal Growth and Empowerment
